Meet Belinda

I don't think people need fixing. I think they need to be properly listened to, and helped to trust that they already know more about their own body than they give themselves credit for.

I've always been drawn to the stories our bodies tell, not just the symptoms, but the patterns underneath them. The stuff that doesn't always fit neatly into a diagnosis, but explains so much once you actually look.

The moment I love most in this work isn't the treatment itself. It's the bit when something clicks, when someone says "ahh, that's how it's connected," or "that's what it felt like to me too, but no one got it" or "no one's ever explained it like that before." That moment matters, because understanding and finding trust in yourself changes things. When you understand, and listen to what's happening in your body, you stop feeling frustrated and can move toward feeling capable again.

The backstory

I didn't start out as an osteo, I was actually a chef first. Hospitality was easy to fall into (after dropping out of nursing just before the finish line), and it turned out I was good at it, not so much the creative side, more that my brain is wired to see the big picture and just get things sorted without panicking. Useful in a busy kitchen. What I wasn't built for was the ego and pressure of the head-chef culture I was in, and the stress caught up with me as constant headaches, the kind that become so normal you stop noticing you're in pain.

A chance osteopathy appointment (I usually saw a chiropractor, but couldn't get in) fixed what years of other things hadn't, and not in the way I expected. I remember lying there thinking "helloooo, it's my head," while she spent almost the whole session on my shoulder. Turned out that's exactly where the answer had been hiding the whole time, not my neck. A few days later I remember my head feeling clear for the first time in ages. That was the moment I knew I wanted to do this instead.

Training as a mature-age student, I quickly found I couldn't just rote-learn my way through, I needed the why behind everything before it actually stuck. It took longer, but once I understood something properly, I could apply it anywhere.

Somewhere in the countless professional development courses I did in breathwork, Reiki and visceral manipulation (working with your organs and the surrounding tissue), I found the confidence to just be my own unique self as a practitioner. I didn't have to be treating sports injuries in a gym to be a "good osteo".

I am drawn to treating the not-so-obvious parts instead. What lights me up is helping someone feel genuinely well and like themselves again. Since your whole body is run by your nervous system, and you need to breathe to stay alive, it makes sense to me to start there!

I grew up on the Mornington Peninsula, and after a decade interstate, I'm coming back now as a far more confident version of myself, someone who's made peace with being a little different, and is ready to embrace and encourage all of our unique selves to thrive. I am so excited to bring that to this community again.

Philosophy

Your body isn't failing you. It's adapting - to stress, old injuries, not enough rest, everything life throws at it. Pain, tension and fatigue are often signs of that effort, not signs something's broken.

My whole approach comes back to a few core osteopathic ideas I genuinely live by:

  • You're one whole thing, not separate parts. Body, mind and spirit aren't separate systems having separate experiences — what's going on emotionally affects you physically, and vice versa, all the time. So I'm never just treating "the shoulder" or "the headache." I'm treating you.

  • Your body already knows how to heal. Given the right environment, it will fix its own imbalances and find its way back to health. My job isn't to force that — it's to remove whatever's getting in the way and help create the conditions for it to happen.

  • How you're built and how you function are deeply linked. A problem in your structure — the way you move, hold yourself, breathe — shows up in how you function day to day. And it works the other way too: how you're living affects your structure over time.

  • Treatment should make sense for you, specifically. Not a generic protocol applied to everyone with a similar symptom, but care built around your body, your history and your context — treating the whole person, not just masking whatever's loudest right now.

That's why I work across hands-on treatment, nervous system support, breathwork and Reiki, depending on what's needed. I don't separate these into different "services" in my head.

They're just different tools for the same goal: helping your body build the resilience and adaptability to handle whatever life brings, not just get through it.

What this means for you

Evidence-informed enough to feel safe.
Holistic enough to feel different.

My goal is never to make you dependent on me. It's to help you trust yourself; to understand your body, to stop fearing movement, to stop feeling fragile, and to reconnect with how strong and adaptable you actually are.

I want you to want to come back. Not need to.

And if you tell a friend about your session, I'd love for it to be about how you felt - not the diagnosis you walked out with.
